Orlando Magic to wear Disney patches on uniforms

The Orlando Magic became the eighth NBA team to announce a jersey patch deal, revealing that Disney will have its logo on team jerseys beginning next season.

“With Orlando as our hometown, Magic has always been a key strand of our DNA,” Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins said in a statement. “This expanded agreement with Disney brings our story full circle and represents the coming together of two dynamic organizations that have become synonymous with Orlando.”

Aside from the 2½-inch by 2½-inch patch, Disney will offer a new special seating and hospitality area and sell annual passes to Walt Disney World. The team also intends to sell jerseys with the Disney logo on them.

Disney is the owner of ABC and ESPN, which has rights to NBA broadcasts through the 2024-25 season.

Earlier Tuesday, the Minnesota Timberwolves announced that their patch partner would be Fitbit.
